LADIES WEEKEND OUT TESTIMONIALS
EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE WITH LADIES WEEKEND OUT
LAURA STEPHENS
“Ladies Weekend Out was the perfect entry for me into the world of Outdoor Climbing. It was so nice being able to be fully confident that I was safe, learn “the ropes” of outdoor climbing, and have the support of a group of fabulous ladies cheering me on. The guides are so knowledgeable and encouraging, and they put a lot of thought into the routes and activities they plan for every trip.”
“As a newer climber, I was already such a fan of the climbing community and all the great people in it. My experiences with LWO cemented that even further. There’s no judgement about what level you climb at, whether you’ve climbed outdoors or not, or how brave you’re feeling that day. I loved getting to make new friends, camp, and have the opportunity to bond in the unique way that you can when you’ve just put your life in someone else’s hands. Even after I felt more confident climbing outside, I signed up for another 3 trips with LWO because I enjoyed it so much.”

“Ladies weekend out Joshua tree was my first time climbing outdoors(and basically in general), and, I couldn’t have imagined doing it with anyone else! The guides taught safety checks, anchor building, climbing techniques and were super motivating and helpful while climbing. I felt so safe and cared for and it gave me strength and courage to continue on my climbing journey. Climbing with like minded, driven, and badass women is what makes LWO is such a powerful experience. Not to mention all the bonding that happens on and off the rock. Between my first LWO and second in Bishop, I have climbing buddies for life. LWO kick started my climbing journey and I sure did catch the “climbing bug”! “

“I attended my first Ladies Weekend Out event about a year and a half ago, and since then have been to five more (or six… we’ve lost count). Each time I go, I receive exactly what I need from the experience. Sometimes I come away with deepened connections with other amazing women. Sometimes I come away with dramatically improved climbing skills. Sometimes I come away with heightened trust in my own abilities. I always leave a LWO experience feeling joyful, empowered, and strong. “
“The LWO guides are a solid team of dedicated women who guide with safety and skill-building in mind. They meet you where you are and ensure all participants are comfortable and adequately challenged. Each LWO trip is customized to the unique location. In Bishop I experienced my first multi-pitch climb, and then went back again for more beautiful climbing in Pine Creek and Owens River Gorge. In Joshua Tree I became more solid on slab and vertical routes (twice!). In Mammoth I practiced falling safely and working through mental hurdles, and got to share my knowledge as a psychologist in the Mental Approach clinic. In Yosemite I joined an incredible group of tough women for an epic backpacking trip. Next up: Red Rocks! If you’re considering joining a Ladies Weekend Out, do it. You won’t regret it, and you may make some lifelong friends in the process.”
