THE MENTOR MOVEMENT
with
A mentorship program designed for aspiring Mountain Guides and individuals
striving to evolve into a leadership role within the outdoor community
At the core of our Ladies Weekend Out programs we’re dedicated to fostering environments that uplift and inspire women who aim to become a leader in outdoor spaces. With the help of our good friends over at Arc’teryx and their No Wasted Days Community Grant, we’re excited to be rolling out our highly anticipated Mentor Movement program alongside our Ladies Weekend Out events in 2025! The Mentor Movement is an extension of our Ladies Weekend Out programs which looks to provide an entry level apprenticeship to aspiring Mountain Guides and individuals who are seeking growth in a professional outdoor setting, to build confidence within a supportive community while immersing themselves in outdoor recreational pursuits.
Our Guide Team is composed of educators and adventurers who share a profound passion for the outdoors and who are continually looking to achieve self-sufficiency in diverse mountain and life skills. Building upon this foundation, we're thrilled to introduce a new-age mentorship program, the Mentor Movement, with the help from our friends and partner Arc’teryx.
All women-identifying individuals are warmly encouraged to apply to our programs, including those who are AFAB, trans women, gender-nonconforming, and gender-expansive. We strive to create an inclusive space where everyone feels valued and supported in their unique journey.

As a Mentor Movement Mentee, you will shadow and assist the LWO guide team throughout your chosen weekend in which you applied and were selected for. Mentees can expect to broaden their hard skills and knowledge in the discipline they are shadowing while also learning how our LWO guide team runs events. Topics that will be reviewed and practiced include safety management of our guests and meeting their expectations throughout the event, logistics coordination, professionalism in an intimate setting, and more. Each Mentor Movement Mentee will also receive additional personalized instruction, in a 1:1 or 2:1 setting, with the LWO guide team the day before the event they are scheduled to assist with. Additionally, Mentees will receive a thorough debrief by our LWO guide team after the event which will also include guidance for taking the next steps in advancing their leadership role.
